A beautiful kitchen transformation of high gloss units in a radiant red. We love the complimenting red lid glass jar accessories.
This Stoneham high gloss kitchen includes an interesting textured wood laminate called ‘Volcanic Elm’. We think the orange dog accessory is quite amusing!

This white high gloss kitchen is incredibly functional, sleek and modern. The trio of lights make a fantastic feature above the island breakfast bar.
This customer wanted to keep his old kitchen, but give it a new lease of life. He asked for our advice on how to go about it. He wanted to sell his house, but was advised by the agent that his old 1980’s pine kitchen was putting off potential customers.
We advised the customer to use a simple but popular ‘Shaker’ style door with plain drawer fronts which would give a clean and unfussy look. His kitchen was given new lease of life by making new Shaker style doors, drawer fronts, end panels, new side panels, plinths and top cornice mouldings. The traditional chimney breast was improved by getting rid of the frieze and fitting a plain panel.
The old kitchen has been transformed with new cabinetry, a lick of paint in a pastel colour and new brushed nickel handles.
we prepared the old cabinets with a primer coat, removing the old parts which would be replaced with new cabinetry, which you can see below.
Then we began to fit the new cabinetry:
Below you can see the almost completed refurbishment, just a few finishing touches left to add:
Here you can see two images of the the completed transformation, with all the final details including handles added to the cabinets and drawers:
When it comes to designing a kitchen, the devil is in the detail. Stoneham Kitchens believes a kitchen is only as good as its components, so every aspect of the kitchen, from the wood we use to make cabinetry, to the joints on our doors, is specially selected. Eddie Chu, Stoneham’s Commercial Manager, explains why he thinks Blum’s Legrabox is the ultimate in box storage systems, and and is therefore standard fitment and the right choice for every Stoneham kitchen.
1. Super sleek
When it comes to smart storage, the last thing you want is a bulky drawer; the Legrabox system features 12.8mm slim side panels, so it fits neatly into kitchens cabinets. This means that your seamless design won’t be compromised, and you’ll still get masses of space for your kitchen bits and bobs. With five different drawer side heights, ranging from 66.5mm to 241mm, of varying lengths, there’s a drawer that’s right for even the biggest of saucepans.
2. Heavy duty
Despite the slim size, Blum’s Legrabox drawer system has been designed to support dynamic load bearing. Each drawer has a carrying capacity of 40 to 70kg, depending on size – that’s a lot of bags of sugar! Legrabox drawers also have the lowest sag value, which means that not only can they hold all your pots and pans, they won’t droop with use even when fully locked. Legrabox also comes with a lifetime guarantee, in the unlikely event that wear and tear damages your drawers.
3. The latest tech
It’s also important to maintain an ambience in your kitchen, so even when you’re rushing around, preparing a meal, you don’t have to slam doors. Blum’s synchronised smooth running action means that drawers close smoothly, and silently.
4. Different design choices
Stoneham Kitchens is proud to provide a fully bespoke experience, with design decisions to be made about each element of the kitchen to ensure it fits with our customer’s lifestyle and personal aesthetic. We wanted to find a box drawer system that looks good, too, and Legrabox doesn’t disappoint. With its ultra stylish Orion Grey matt finish, each drawer is a stylish addition to your kitchen. ‘Hidden’ drawers are a big trend in kitchen design at the moment; Stoneham offers high drawer fascia, concealing two drawers under the façade of one, with the Legrabox system for even more storage.
5. Supreme organisation
Dynamic Space, a design system that organises your kitchen into five function areas (consumable storage, non-consumable storage, cleaning, preparation and cooking), means that your storage is super-organised, with items necessary for each activity available just where you need it. Legrabox also allows for even more organisation within your drawers themselves. There’s a superb range of options: stainless steel cutlery dividers; plate holders; spice racks; knife blocks; even an aluminium foil/ clingfilm dispenser! With sizes to fit most drawer widths, these clever drawer solutions are magnetised to locate them to drawer sides to keep everything clutter-free. And with anti-slip mats, your tea spoons and saucers won’t slide round as you open and close drawers.
